Professional Development Credits

One of the hallmarks of Greater & Greener is the cross-sector dialogue, providing perspectives for related professions working in the urban parks field. City Parks Alliance is pleased to announce continuing education credits for parks and recreation professionals, planners, and landscape architects. Please see the Schedule at a Glance for session descriptions and credits. Continuing Education is available in the following categories:

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)

City Parks Alliance is pleased to offer general continuing education units (CEUs) for select conference sessions and activities. Attendees seeking CEUs must identify their intention to earn CEUs during the conference registration process. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their name badge is scanned as they enter and exit a session; this enables us to verify that participants attended each session for which they are seeking CEUs for the entire duration.

Upon request following the conference, City Parks Alliance will generate a transcript form that lists the sessions participants attended for the whole duration and the number of CEUs earned per session (.1 CEU = 1 hour). Participants may submit this form to any organizations that require continuing education units in this format with whom they maintain certifications.  Transcript requests will be fulfilled within 10 business days of the request date.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS (PDHs)

City Parks Alliance is a Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES) approved provider for professional development hours (PDH). Landscape architects seeking credit must identify their intention to earn PDHs during the conference registration process. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their name badge is scanned as they enter and exit a session; attendance will be submitted to LA CES within 20 days of the conference end date. You must stay for the entire session, and you will be required to fill out a session evaluation survey (session surveys are available through the conference app.) You must complete the survey to be awarded credit for the session.

Upon request following the conference, City Parks Alliance will generate a certificate for each session for which an attendee meets the above requirements. Requests for certificates will be fulfilled within 10 business days of the request date.

CERTIFICATION MAINTENANCE (CMs)

City Parks Alliance is a Certification Maintenance (CM) program provider approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners/American Planning Association (AICP/APA) to provide continuing education activities and events for CM credits. Planners seeking credit must identify their intention to earn CMs during the conference registration process. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their name badge is scanned as they enter and exit a session. You must stay for the entire session. Planners must claim CM credits via the AICP website’s CM Log.

For all participants seeking credit
Please note that it is up to the individual to manage your own certification process. Upon check-in at the Conference Registration area, please verify with staff that you are seeking credits to ensure you are indicated as such in our system and that you receive the appropriate materials where necessary.
