Panel Dialogue

This panel dialogue will discuss the role parks can play in addressing climate challenges and promoting community resilience in the context of environmental justice. Panelists will share their experience in parks and conservation and present case studies on balancing racial and climate justice.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Recognize the role that parks play in promoting community resilience and addressing climate challenges.
  • Give examples of effective communication strategies for engaging groups that may be resistant to change in regards to environmental justice.
  • Identify strategies to build inclusivity within parks and open space.
  • Recognize the importance of partnerships and coalition-building in advancing park equity and environmental restoration efforts.
  • Discuss how to advance racial equality in historic spaces while also addressing climate resilience.
