Amir Williams is the OOC Sr. Trails Coordinator for the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation. He has a wife and 4 ½ year old and together they foster dogs while they find a permanent home.
He started his career with the City in June of 2015 as a Gardener at Kubota Garden where he was at for about 5 years. From there he became the Sr. Gardener on the NRU Landscape Crew where he was able to use his Sustainable Landscape Management and Landscape Construction degrees to help develop new landscapes and renovate old ones within the Parks system.
In 2021 he joined the Trails Crew as the Sr. Forst Maintenance Worker where he was the boots on the ground guy building, maintaining, and mapping the 140 miles of soft surface trails and trail structures that are within the City’s Park system. In January of 2023 he got the opportunity to take on the roll of OOC Sr. Trail Coordinator where he went from the boots on the ground guy to coordinating, designing, planning, and training crew members on the trails BMP and standards.
It has been very fulfilling and rewarding to help others gain the skills and confidence to build and maintain our trails and trail structures and to help our city’s trail system grow.
