Bryan Matsumoto

Project Manager at Nature For All

Bryan works on planning and implementation of nature access and greenspace infrastructure projects at Nature for All, and public communications.

He is Project Manager of the Mt. Wilson Express – a transit to trails project to build Los Angeles’s first bus system to the Angeles National Forest. In partnership with Pasadena Transit and the U.S. Forest Service, the Mt. Wilson Express will provide equitable access to nature, sustainable visitor management, and “Recreate with Respect” education. Tentative launch: 2026.

Bryan is also Project Manager of the Fish Canyon Trail Restoration and Access Planning project in collaboration with the City of Duarte. He is the Transportation Access Chair of the San Gabriel Mountains Community Collaborative, and works with the US Forest Service on sustainable visitor management and communication projects.

Bryan has a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona, a B.A. in Design | Media Arts from UCLA, and has worked over 17 years in public landscape architecture, park design and community outreach across LA County.

In his free time, Bryan enjoys hiking, travelling, cycling, picnicking, pickleball, taiko (Japanese drumming), food and organizing outings for Great Outdoors LA (LGBTQ+ hiking/outdoor group).
