In her roles as acting Division Chief for Park Planning and Stewardship and Site Planning Supervisor at the Montgomery Parks Department of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Christie works on the overall planning vision for and stewardship of Montgomery Parks’ large and varied park system. Montgomery Parks manages natural resources including rural, suburban, and urban stream valleys in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, conservation parks and agricultural reserves, cultural resources and museums that highlight local history both contemporary and prehistoric, and urban and recreational parks. Christie is passionate about serving the one million people in Montgomery County to provide outstanding park experiences for active recreation, social connection, and positive interactions with the natural environment.
Christie is a landscape architect with more 20 years of experience in both the private and public sectors and has worked at a wide range of scales and disciplines including urban planning, project management, mixed-use development, park development, public engagement, and design education.
