Gordon has worked in the Parks and Recreation Planning field for nearly 30 years. He has been a park planner in the rural counties of Texas assisting local governments with community master planning and grant writing and then went on to park project management with the Lower Colorado River Authority. He then was hired to manage the Arlington, TX Planning team where he oversaw the planning and capital improvements of this award winning system.
Today, and for the last 16 years, Gordon is the Director of Park Planning, Design and Construction for the City of Denver, CO. During his tenure he has grown the Planning Division from 17 full-time professionals to 53 full-time landscape architects, city planners, architects, engineers, data analysts, surveyor and admin personnel and has increased capital funding from $10 million to over $55 million annually.
Gordon has been a guest speaker at national and statewide conferences including CPA, NRPA, ASLA, and many others.
