Joy holds 20+ years of public sector experience, including being a park ranger, non-profit leader and city council member. In 2022, she joined the Austin Parks Foundation as Chief Mission Officer. Under her leadership, APF has garnered an additional $3.4M for the City of Austin’s Parks Department budget, created a $500k partnership with the San Antonio Spurs to refurbish basketball courts city-wide, and celebrated the 20th Anniversary of It’s My Park Day, a twice-yearly volunteer event that improves hundreds of parks across the city leveraging thousands of volunteers. Prior to her current role, she served as Deputy Director at Sustainable Food Center. Joy holds her Master of Public Affairs degree fromThe University of Texas’ LBJ School. She enjoys camping with her son and husband, traveling off the beaten path and exploring culinary delights.
